Heather Marley Allen, PhD – Educator, DECA Ambassador and Advocate for Teacher Well-Being.

Dr. Heather Marley Allen is an educator, DECA ambassador, and founder of Mindful31, an organization dedicated to supporting teachers through research-based solutions that address burnout, job satisfaction, and overall well-being. With a PhD in Psychology and a Master’s in Business Management, Dr. Allen combines academic expertise with real-world experience to champion meaningful change in education.

Her doctoral research focused on the impact of mindfulness on burnout and job satisfaction among K–12 teachers, a study that now forms the foundation of Mindful31’s mission and programming. This work underscores her belief that systemic change begins with supporting the people at the heart of education.

After more than a decade in corporate leadership, Heather transitioned into education where she now teaches high school marketing and mentors future leaders through DECA. Her direct experience in the classroom has deepened her commitment to helping educators find balance between their careers and personal lives. She believes teachers deserve more than recognition. They deserve the resources, respect, and support to succeed.

Through Mindful31, Heather leads research and programming that advocates for better teacher pay, improved work-life balance, and greater appreciation for the teaching profession. Her approach is grounded in psychological science and delivered with empathy. She offers customized mindfulness tools and workshops for schools and districts seeking long-term, measurable impact.

Dr. Allen’s mission is to help teachers feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
